Transmission Repair in Dubai
Dubai’s transmission specialists for over 30 years. Automatic, CVT, DSG and DCT repair, rebuilds and servicing for every car brand — right here in Ras Al Khor.

When your gearbox starts acting up, you don’t want guesses — you want someone who’s seen it all before. At Falak Al Ebdaa Transmission in Ras Al Khor Industrial Area 2, we’ve spent more than three decades doing one thing: fixing transmissions properly. Automatics, CVTs, dual-clutch DSG and DCT units, torque converters, valve bodies — if it shifts gears, we repair it.
Dubai is brutal on gearboxes. Summer temperatures push past 50°C, and that heat cooks transmission fluid from the inside. Add daily stop-and-go traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road and it’s no surprise that slipping gears, shuddering and delayed shifting are some of the most common car complaints in the UAE. The good news? Most transmission problems can be repaired without replacing the whole unit — if they’re diagnosed early by people who know what they’re looking at. That’s exactly what our free transmission inspection is for.

8 Warning Signs Your Transmission Needs Repair
Catch these early and you’ll usually save yourself a rebuild. Ignore them, and a small fix turns into a big bill.
- Gears slipping — the engine revs but the car doesn’t pick up speed, or it drops out of gear on its own. Classic worn-clutch or low-fluid symptom.
- Shuddering or jerking — a vibration like driving over rumble strips, usually between 40 and 80 km/h. Often the torque converter crying for help.
- Delayed engagement — you shift into Drive or Reverse and… nothing happens for a few seconds. Don’t wait on this one.
- Harsh or hard shifting — clunks and bangs between gears instead of smooth changes. Frequently a valve body or solenoid issue.
- Whining or grinding noises — new noises from under the car that change with speed are never “normal”. Get them checked.
- Transmission warning light — your car’s computer has already found the fault. A proper diagnostic scan tells us exactly what it is.
- Fluid leaks — reddish puddles under the car. Low fluid starves the gearbox of both lubrication and cooling.
- Burning smell — overheated, degraded fluid. In Dubai heat this one shows up a lot, and it means the fluid has stopped protecting your gearbox.
Noticing any of these? Bring the car in for our free inspection — we’ll scan it, road-test it and tell you straight what’s wrong and what it’ll cost. No obligation.

Transmission Repair FAQs
Honest answers to the questions Dubai drivers ask us every day.
How much does transmission repair cost in Dubai?
It depends on the problem. A fluid and filter service is a few hundred dirhams; solenoid or valve body work runs into the low thousands; a full rebuild is more but still far cheaper than a dealership replacement. After our free inspection, you get an exact quote — no surprises.
How long does a transmission repair take?
Most repairs take 1–3 days. A full rebuild usually takes 4–7 days because the gearbox comes out, gets stripped, rebuilt and tested properly. We’ll give you a realistic timeline with your quote.
Is it safe to drive with a slipping transmission?
Short distances at low speed, maybe — but every kilometre risks more internal damage. A slipping gearbox generates extra heat and debris that wrecks parts that were still fine. Get it checked sooner rather than later.
Do you repair CVT and DSG gearboxes?
Yes — both. CVTs (Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi) and dual-clutch DSG/DCT units (VW, Audi, Hyundai, Kia, Ford) are a big part of our daily work. We also handle mechatronic unit repairs, which many general garages won’t touch.
Should I repair, rebuild or replace my transmission?
Honest answer: it depends on mileage, damage and the car’s value. A single failed solenoid? Repair it. Widespread wear at 200,000 km? A rebuild usually makes sense. We’ll lay out all three options with prices and tell you which we’d choose if it were our car.
Do you offer a warranty on transmission repairs?
Yes. Major repairs and full rebuilds come with a warranty — the exact terms depend on the job, and we’ll put it in writing before we start.
