Automatic Transmission Repair in Dubai - Falak Al Ebdaa Transmission Dubai

Most cars on Dubai’s roads have a conventional automatic gearbox — the torque-converter type found in everything from a Toyota Camry to a BMW 3 Series to a Nissan Patrol. They’re smooth and reliable, but they’re also complex: hundreds of parts working under high pressure and high heat. When something wears out, you feel it immediately in how the car drives.

At Falak Al Ebdaa Transmission in Ras Al Khor, automatic gearbox repair is our bread and butter. With 30+ years in the trade, we’ve rebuilt automatics from every major manufacturer — Aisin units in Toyotas, ZF 8-speeds in BMWs and Land Rovers, GM boxes in Chevrolets and GMCs. If your automatic is misbehaving, chances are we’ve fixed the exact same fault before.

Common Automatic Transmission Problems We Fix

  • Slipping between gears — engine revs climb but speed doesn’t follow. Usually worn clutch packs or low/damaged fluid.
  • Harsh or delayed shifting — hard clunks, or a pause before Drive engages. Often valve body or solenoid trouble.
  • Torque converter shudder — a rumble-strip vibration at cruising speed. One of the most common complaints we see.
  • Fluid leaks — red puddles under the car mean seals or the pan gasket have given up.
  • Overheating — Dubai summers are merciless; degraded fluid can’t cool the box and parts start cooking.
  • Warning lights & limp mode — the gearbox computer detects a fault and locks you in one gear to protect itself.
  • Whining or humming noises — worn bearings or a failing pump, getting louder with speed.
  • No Reverse or no Drive — serious, but often repairable without a full replacement.

How We Repair Your Automatic Transmission

It starts with our free inspection: a road test, a dealer-level computer scan, and a fluid condition check. That tells us whether you’re looking at a simple fix — say, a valve body service or a torque converter replacement — or whether the box needs to come out for a full rebuild.

Here’s what we won’t do: guess. Plenty of garages throw parts at gearbox problems and hope. We diagnose first, quote honestly, and only then pick up a spanner. And if the repair genuinely isn’t worth the money — say, a 15-year-old box with 300,000 km on it — we’ll tell you straight and talk through your options instead of selling you work you don’t need.

Automatic Transmission Repair FAQs

Honest answers to the questions Dubai drivers ask us every day.

Can an automatic transmission be repaired, or does it need replacing?

Almost always repairable. Individual failures — solenoids, torque converters, valve bodies, clutch packs — can be fixed without replacing the whole unit. A full rebuild is only needed when there’s widespread internal wear, and even then it’s far cheaper than a new gearbox from the dealer.

How do I know if my transmission fluid is bad?

Healthy fluid is translucent red and smells slightly sweet. Dark brown or black fluid with a burnt smell means it’s overdue — and in Dubai’s heat, fluid degrades faster than the manual suggests. If you’re unsure, our free inspection includes a fluid check.

My car goes into limp mode. What does that mean?

Limp mode is the gearbox protecting itself — it locks into a single gear so you can crawl to a workshop without causing catastrophic damage. It’s a symptom, not the fault itself. A diagnostic scan reads the stored fault code and points us at the real problem.

Do you work on all automatic gearbox types?

Yes — conventional torque-converter automatics (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10-speed), plus CVTs and dual-clutch units, which each have their own dedicated service pages.
