Transmission Rebuild & Overhaul in Dubai
Complete strip-down rebuilds with new clutches, seals and worn parts — with warranty, at a fraction of dealership replacement cost.

Sometimes a gearbox is past the point of a simple repair. Widespread wear, high mileage, contaminated fluid that’s been circulating metal for months — when the damage is throughout the unit, the right fix is a rebuild: the transmission comes out, gets completely stripped down, and goes back together with new clutches, seals, gaskets and every worn part replaced. Done properly, a rebuilt gearbox drives like new and lasts for years.
This is the job dealerships rarely offer — they’d rather sell you a brand-new unit at an enormous price. Rebuilding is skilled, time-consuming work, which is exactly why 30+ years of experience matters. We’ve rebuilt hundreds of automatics, CVTs and dual-clutch units at our Ras Al Khor workshop. We know these gearboxes inside out, literally.
Rebuild vs Replace vs Used: Honest Guidance
You’ll hear three options when a gearbox is badly worn. Here’s how we see them:
- Rebuild (our recommendation in most cases) — your own gearbox, rebuilt with new wear parts. You know its history, everything worn gets replaced, and it costs far less than new. Comes with our warranty.
- Brand-new unit — the most expensive option by a mile. Makes sense on a nearly-new car; rarely sensible on anything older.
- Used gearbox — cheapest upfront, biggest gamble. Unknown mileage, unknown history, usually no meaningful warranty. We’ve seen customers pay twice: once for the used box, then again when it fails six months later.
We’ll price all sensible options and tell you which one we’d pick if it were our own car. That’s the whole point of our free inspection — you decide with full information, not sales pressure.

Transmission Rebuild FAQs
Honest answers to the questions Dubai drivers ask us every day.
How long does a transmission rebuild take?
Typically 4–7 working days: removal, strip-down, parts ordering, rebuild, reinstallation, adaptation and road testing. We’ll give you a firm timeline with your quote.
How much does a transmission rebuild cost in Dubai?
It varies by gearbox type — a 4-speed automatic costs less than a ZF 8-speed or a DSG. As a rule of thumb, a rebuild is roughly a third to half the price of a new unit from the dealer. Exact quote after our free inspection.
Will my car drive like new after a rebuild?
That’s the goal, and it’s what we test for. With new clutches, seals and serviced hydraulics, plus proper adaptation, a rebuilt gearbox should shift smoothly and quietly. We road-test every car before handover.
Do you rebuild CVT and DSG gearboxes too?
Yes — CVTs and dual-clutch units included. The process is the same: strip, replace what’s worn, rebuild, test.
